I have noticed my hair getting thinner near my hair line. I am not on prescription meds. I don’t drink or smoke. I wash and condition my hair all the time and use hair lotions (I am black) to replenish moisture lost during shampooing, but my hair is still shedding badly. I am 34 and ashamed. My husband is not even aware of my hair loss problem. If anyone have a solution for my problem please let me know. Alot of people mistake me for being around 24, but if I continue to lose hair, they will assume I am 74!

you can never over condition your hair, that’s like saying ‘ I’m using to much lotion for my body." Black hair needs moisture,so that’s not the case. Did you just recently have a baby, or are you stressing over anything that’s causing you to lose your hair? What about birth control? Are you using relaxers often? Anyone of things can determine why you’re losing your hair.Well, you can try Nioxin, it helps with thinning and its guaranteed to work. They have different formulas for your hair type. It comes with shampoo, conditioner, and a treatment.Good luck.

    My hair is doing that.
    Only thing is I’m 17.
The doctors said it was because i lacked iron..so maybe that is your problem? But go have your thyroids tested, to make sure they are normal.

Also if you are perming or relaxing your hair make sure to protect your edges with Vaseline to keep from burning your scalp. That could cause it also if its just around the edges.

Hi, there are a lot of reasons for hair loss in women. Most of these conditions are related to an underlying condition like stress, thyroid problems and also post pregnancy stress. Other issues that might be causing your hair loss is hormonal imbalances like menopause, but at your age it’s highly unlikely.

As your hair and skin’s quality generally indicate your overall health, you might want to go to your doctor to diagnose the problem and get a blood test.
