Well my friend is having problems with her hair, and she gets really upset about it because her hair is really oily so she has to wash it everyday and recently she’s noticed that her hair is thinning and it almost looks like shes suffering premature hair loss. She gets upset every time someone mentions about her hair and I was just wondering does anyone know anything over the counter that can help with this type of situation?

    hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few. but anyway you can always try and get real results.

    year ago my wife suffered from hair loss too and she started trying everything you can imagine to stop her hair loss. the things that really worked for her was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The ‘B’ vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also used herbal treatment.in that case Provillus is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

    It worked and still works for her!

    I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=749165

    good luck!

    not only my and my wife`s own personal experience

    She might need to eat more healthy, such as, more proteins and vegetables.

    Throwing up often doesn’t help either

    Believe it or not, vegetables are a solution. I had the same problem with my hair (oily and thin, also getting a little grey) And my dad suggested I wasnt eating enough fruits and veggies. Turns out he was right!

    A lot of things cause this. She should go get a check up at the doctor if hair loss does not run in her family.

    I’m not joking when I say Rogaine. We have TV commercials over here in CA that show girls using it too

    Rogaine for women. Rogaine is the only over-the-counter product actually proven to regrow hair, or minimize hair loss. Everything else that sounds like it claims it does the same is usually carefully worded so that it doesn’t promise a darn thing — or states it does something that *might* be helpful, but who knows?

    My ex-husband got sold a very pricey set of hair loss products by his stylist and got freaked out by the thought of Rogaine for some reason. I read the labels on his pricey stuff and found that they actually made NO SOLID CLAIMS AT ALL. None. The marketing-speak made it sound wonderful, but there was nothing that the FDA would be able to require them to prove. Very bogus. (He’s got VERY thin hair now.)

    <edit> … good point from some of the earlier posters. It could be a medical condition or poor nutrition (such as if anorexic). If your scalp isn’t getting the proper building blocks to make more hair because you’re starving yourself, then your hair will be thin and weak, yes. I’d suggest a doctor visit first and foremost to rule out medical problems.

    If she is just starting to lose her hair there are several things she can do to stop it.

    Eat a healthy diet. Hair is 95% protein and eating a diet with plenty of vitamins and proteins will not only make your hair look healthy but will help you to keep it.
    Just adding vegetables and fruit to your diet can make a big difference.

    Vitamin B helps with circulation in the scalp, prevents hair loss, keeps your hair its natural colour and stops it from greying

    Vitamin C is an antioxidant that keeps your hair healthy.

    Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant as well and also helps improve the scalp circulation.

    Biotin which is another vitamin is essential for hair growth and healthy hair.

    All these vitamins can be found in a healthy diet.

    Take natural hair supplements like provillus. These provide all the vitamins and proteins your hair needs. The best ones contain DHT inhibitors that stop your body converting testosterone into DHT which is the cause of genetic hair loss.

    Use a good shampoo. Ideally it should have a pH between 5 and 9. This as close to the pH of your hair you will find in a shampoo. If your shampoo stings your eyes a lot that is a clear indication that there are excessive chemicals in it and you sholud change it.

    Finally try and avoid stress, this is a major cause of hair loss and avoiding it will help you keep your hair.
